In our watchful anticipation for the coming of the Emmanuel – God with us, beside regular participation in Sunday and daily Eucharist, you are invited to set aside time for St. Luke Divine Mercy Advent Parish Mission – December 8-11, 2019. Each evening begins with music at 6:30.

Today the Church begins a new liturgical year - Advent. Advent, comes from the Latin word “adventus,” which means “a coming to”.

Father all-powerful, your gifts of love are countless and your goodness infinite. On Thanksgiving Day we come before you with gratitude for your kindness: open our hearts to concern for our fellow men and women, so that we may share your gifts in loving service. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. On the last Sunday of each liturgical year, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe. Conventional understandings of kingship and power are transformed. Instead of calling up images of Jesus Christ dressed in kingly robes, the Gospel proclaims Him as king, by the reign over His head, on the throne of a wooden cross– I.N.R.I – Iesus Nazarenus Rex Ivdaeorvm – Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.

St. Luke Outreach Ministry will hold its Annual Bake Sale and Crafts this weekend, November 23-24, after all Masses. Bring your Sweet Tooth!

As we approach the end of the Liturgical Year of the Church, the scripture readings bring our attention on the end times. Today, we reflect upon one of the biggest questions of human history-- When?

In today’s Gospel, Jesus once again reminds us of His ever faithful mission- “to seek and to save what was lost.” It is a profound gift to allow Jesus to “seek us out” and to find us.
